Harborview - Maintenance has an outstanding opportunity for a Machinery Mechanic 2.

WORK SCHEDULE

0700-1530 Monday through Friday

100% FTE, Days.

No Telework

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all types of mechanical equipment such as electrical drive motors, laundry, kitchen, and air-conditioning equipment; change oil, grease, change or clean filters, drive belts, sprockets, shafts, and bearings to ensure proper operation;

Perform maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical, mechanical and structural systems of buildings and utility distribution;

Operate hand and power tools in a skilled manner; fabricate material and equipment in workshops;

Remodel and construct facilities in accordance with project requirements; assist in the preparation of engineering data under the direction of an engineer;

Repair windows, doors, screens, floors, floor coverings, and painted surfaces; install, maintain, and repair electrical connections, switches, circuits, electrical equipment, thermostats, and valves;

May perform minor maintenance on automobiles and equipment such as oil change, lubrication, fix flats, repair lights, fan belts, etc.;

Develop preliminary cost estimates for installations and repairs;

Drive service truck as required, load and unload materials and supplies;

May lead or instruct helpers or other maintenance workers as required;

May fire boilers on a relief basis;

May assist, coordinate and/or work with other trades and crafts journey personnel;

May train students/helpers in other skilled trade areas

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a journey worker, OR full-journey status in a union; OR four years' applicable work experience. Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.

Examination Requirements:

The examination (including written, E & T, and oral components) will consist of a scored evaluation of the applicant's experience in mechanical maintenance work; ability to perform demanding physical labor; knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair techniques; ability to perform general mechanical maintenance and repair of buildings, machinery, and equipment.
