Position: Financial Accountant – Accounts Receivable (f/m/x)

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia

Contract: Full-time (40h/w)

OVERVIEW

In this position, you will be responsible for the daily Accounting and Administration of Accounts Receivable for the assigned region, in active mutual collaboration with your local colleagues in the respective country. Daily tasks include also regular follow-up on the unpaid receivables, reconciliation, analysis, closing activities, merchant commission activities and AR-related internal audits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Daily processing of Bank Statements, regular & proper allocation of Payments
  • Data reconciliation from our processing system via interfaces to the accounting system (invoices, credit notes, back commission)
  • Preparation of Debtor Payment Requests
  • Remittance of the “back commission”
  • Weekly reporting to the colleagues in the local country
  • Reconciliation of Accounts Receivable, Write-off, verification of the ageing structure and credit balances
  • Dunning and cash collection
  • Manual invoicing & support on automation
  • Regular cash-in forecast
  • Process description & improvement actions
  • Closing activities for month- and year-end: Reporting, Ageing structure of receivables, Calculation of bad-debt provision, Confirmation of Balances.
  • Professional and technical support to other teams regarding merchant commission
  • Support of top management by delivering analyses and detailed reports in the area of merchant commission
  • SOX Controls & Audit tasks
  • Reconciliation of the Merchant commission/Marketing compensation
  • Preparation of commission reports
  • Validation of incoming invoices for Merchant commission (use of accrual)

Reporting and collaboration

  • Team leader and Manager of Accounts Receivable department ACC
  • Financial Accounting teams in the local country
  • Sales local support / Merchant service in the local country

Experience and background

  • Profound Accounting knowledge
  • Education in Accounting/Finance or relevant working experience (1-2 years)
  • Advanced MS-Office skills (especially Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Advantage : VBA, SQL experience
  • Language skills: advanced English
  • Advantage: native/fluent knowledge of international languages (Dutch, German, French, Slavic language or other)

  • Understanding of accounting schedules and flexible around month-end closings
  • Organization & time-management skills, ability to prioritize workload
  • Analytic mindset with great focus on details,
