Coupa Software is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join its Strategic Finance, Planning & Analysis (SFP&A) team. This individual contributor will drive value across a broad spectrum of the Company’s Operating Plan with a particular focus on assisting in the preparation of department annual planning process, financial & operational metric reporting and supporting a variety of ad-hoc strategic analysis and decision-making processes.

A successful Sr. Analyst requires strong financial reporting, planning and modeling skills as well as focus on details and solid business judgment. Impeccable character, integrity, and work ethic are also critical for success. This newly created role will be supported by the Director of SFP&A, work closely with the Finance leadership team, and will be based out of our San Mateo, CA headquarters office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the core monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning, budgeting and reporting processes and perform financial analyses for various revenue and expense streams 
  • Trusted advisor to the SFP&A and Finance leadership team. Proactively collaborate, influence, and align the corporate planning processes to achieve overall Company strategy
  • Work cross functionally to support departmental leadership in reporting, analytics and executing financial initiatives 
  • Partner with the broader organization, including Accounting, IT and Operations to drive process and systematic improvements across the Company
  • Support Accounting team in certain monthly and quarterly close procedures
  • Support preparation of presentations to Board of Directors and Company management 
  • Assist the departmental VPs with ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision making

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years of direct FP&A experience or equivalent (e.g. Investment Banking) in fast-paced, high-growth environments 
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves, handle large amounts of data and build complex financial models (in Excel and Anaplan)
  • Strong analytical background with the ability to creatively solve problems with a data-driven approach
  • Must demonstrate analytical prowess, strategic thinking and a command of the details
  • Ability to deal with conflict and manage expectations
  • Self-starter capable of driving business results without significant supervision
  • Exposure to key financial management processes as required in a scaling organization
  • Enterprise SaaS experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related fields; MBA or CFA a plus
  • Experience with NetSuite, Anaplan, Salesforce, Coupa, Xactly, OpenAir a plus

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in California: $96,500-113,500

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
