Team Leader/ Principal Bridge Engineer - ( 2300001X )

About the role

In this role you will provide leadership and training to junior team members and provide technical guidance to less experienced professionals. You may also be involved in approving and preparing proposals and cost estimates and evaluating all project progress and recommend changes. The role would also be responsible in planning, conducting and coordinating engineering assignments, involving several smaller and some higher revenue projects, of varying complexity.

The Team Leader position is a function, in addition to your substantive technical/ project contribution role as a Principal Bridge Engineer.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Perform more advanced engineering design tasks on assigned projects under minimal supervision, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of structural engineering and keeps informed of new methods and developments.
  • Contribute to the development of new standards and specifications of Bridge and Civil Structures design.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Assist and/or lead the development of proposals and contract negotiation.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering with a demonstrated 10 to 15 years’ experience in the delivery of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
  • Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng)
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as SPACEGASS, STRAND7, MIDAS
  • Familiarity with WA Structural Engineering and Bridge Branch manuals, Austroads and Australian Standards, especially AS5100.
