Renewables Drafter/Designer

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a talented Drafter/Designer to work in the Renewable Interconnection department. Under the guidance of multiple experienced engineers, designers and drafters, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the developer interconnection process and delivery of renewable energy onto the electrical grid. The position provides drafting and designing opportunities on fast paced solar, wind and battery storage (BESS) renewable energy projects.

The successful candidate will be based in POWER’s Salt Lake City, Utah or Fort Mill, South Carolina office but will report to our Salt Lake City, Utah based Department Manager. Flexibility is available for a hybrid/remote work environment for an experienced candidate (employee will need to live within driving distance of a currently established POWER office). 

Required Education/Experience:

• Associates degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree)
• Experience with MicroStation V8i or newer version
• AutoCAD 2016-2024 experience
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs
• Willing and able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy
• The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members

Desired Education/Experience:

3+ years of drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

• Experience with the following software packages is a plus:
• Bluebeam Revu
• Microsoft Office
• ProjectWise
• Good background in site development and construction including the electrical utility industry

Base Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000 per year
