The Chemours Washington Works facility located in Parkersburg, WV has a Mechanical Integrity/Quality Assurance (MI/QA) Program Leader position available. This is a highly visible, key role within the company and the Process Safety Management (PSM) and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) function. This position will report to the site EHS Unit Manager.

 

The Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MI/QA) site Program Leader provides focus on MI and QA Elements of the site PSM program. This position provides leadership and technical expertise to improve compliance with the MI/QA requirements of Process Safety Management standards, in a way that decreases risk of PSM incidents that are a result of MI or QA defects. Additionally, the site MI/QA Program Leader is responsible for identifying gaps and collaborating with other PSM Element Leaders and site leadership to align on improvement opportunities and efforts that relate to the PSM program. The primary focus of this role is on risk management of the total life cycle of the assets from the Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance perspective.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Interfaces with multiple site operating units and various functions to develop and coordinate a program that will enable achievement of Business and MI/QA objectives.
  • Ensures that formal systems and structures are aligned with site and corporate MI/QA expectations.
  • Actively participates as a member on site PSM Steering Team and leads the MI and QA elements.
  • Ensures that project process is delivering MI/QA requirements as defined in the capital process (CPS) are effectively in place.
  • Develops and owns the site MI/QA Manual, Action Plan, and Heat Maps process and ensures that site MI/QA needs from the Action Plan are reflected in the budgeting process.
  • Tracks and reviews metrics regarding site performance of the MI and QA Elements for on-site and off-site alignment.
  • Represents the site on the Regional MI/QA network and is accountable for executing and participating in site/unit MI/QA audits.
  • Ensures MI/QA subject matter experts are appropriately engaged in PSM (OSHA 1910.119), Capital and Environmental programs. 
  • Coordinates with site Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) master data resources to ensure integration of MI/QA requirements into the CMMS tool and processes.

To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (OSHA 1910.119)
  • Experience with applicable Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) (e.g. API, NFPA, ASME).
  • Understanding of risk assessment and mitigation tools
  • Project leadership or program management experience
  • Auditor experience or certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, OneNote, SharePoint, Access, PowerPoint

The following skill sets are preferred:

  • Previous experience with High Hazard Processes and Highly Toxic Materials
  • Previous experience with SAP PM/PS
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or other equivalent continuous improvement skillset.
