Are you the software Scrum Master who is eager to learn and apply agile principles to expand ASML’s fastest growing business?

Together with your software team, you will be responsible for realization of the associated software functionality. Furthermore, you develop the team and coach team members in their professional development.

The context of this position is a team contributing to creating large scale software system, working together with other teams towards realization of ASML’s roadmaps. Primary stakeholders are the group leader, product owner and product owners of other teams, function cluster architects, and RTE and other scrum masters. It is essential that you get to know your internal customers who need your specific competence to create solutions in your team’s scope.

You guide software realization using e.g. Java technology and apply a Scrum-based, Agile way of working. In addition, you challenge and support the associated software technology roadmap and its updates. Preferably, you are able to also take part in software development.

Furthermore, you drive team development by means of sprint evaluation, quality monitoring (e.g. coding standard & static code checks compliance, definition of ready, definition of done),.

By assisting the group leader in setting targets for team members and coaching them in their contribution and professional development, you co-develop team capability and competences of individual team members. You are not afraid to challenge people on behavior but at the same time you are aware of cultural differences.

You will need strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to be successful in this role. You will work towards meeting and exceeding expectations, and you are flexible. You are ambitious and willing to embrace the opportunity to improve. You will identify and understand the needs of our clients and be responsive, logical, and flexible. To achieve your mission, you initiate meetings to analyze issues and to support, steer, and plan solutions.

Job Description

As scrum master for the group, lead the SAFe and scrum rituals, with strong focus on evaluation and continuous improvement (addressing impediments). Relentless and pro-active steering for continuous improvement:

  • Driving the cooperation between team members and the cooperation with other teams to a next level: make it a truly High Performing Team
  • Removing impediments, for which many other teams need to be involved
  • Maintain deal (handshake) with product owner, function cluster architect and group leader on software plan
  • Coach team members
  • Address and if necessary escalate bottlenecks
  • Preferably, participate in hands-on software development

Education

BSc or MSc in a technical field, e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics, mechanics, chemistry, or electronics.

Experience

  • Agile software development way of working, including SAFe and knowledge of XP methods such as pair programming
  • 5 years in object-oriented development of technical software for high-tech equipment
