POSITION SUMMARY:
 
Under general direction of the Manager of Applications Development, responsible for the analysis, development, integration, and maintenance of J2EE based software –focused on web development. This position is expected to work in the areas of e-commerce as ell
as Workday integrations.
 
We are looking for a passionate Java developer who is proficient with J2EE technologies like Spring MVC and Web Services and any other popular web development framework. The developer should be proficient in object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns. Expertise with the Spring Framework and test driven development is needed. Being able to integrate with backend J2EE components and SAP ERP will be needed
 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops complex technical solutions using J2EE components and MVC pattern in Spring MVC
  • Develops Restful Web Services in J2EE using JAX-RS and other libraries. Strong understanding of the web services architecture.
  • Efficiently use code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, and Bit bucket Enterprise.
  • Provide architectural insights into newer Java UI framework and Java server- side programming
  • Provide standardization insights into newer Java UI framework and Java server- side programming
  • Uses various Tools effectively: JIRA, SLACK, Confluence, Crucible, Jenkins, Fisheye.
  • Good knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) and front-end code coverage with tools like Jasmine/Karma/Protractor
  • Think through complex problems and work with a team to implement real-world solutions
  • Follow Agile methodology. Contribute in various roles such as sprint planning (story point estimates), help writing JIRA stories for technical debt, conform to Acceptance criteria
  • Be part of architecture scrums to create spikes for Proof of Concept items.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  • Expertise to use MVEL or Java to develop new workday integrations with feeds related to payroll, benefits is important
  • Expertise to debug and resolve data related production problems with feeds related to workday integrations in a timely manner is important.

 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically have 5-10 years of application programming and analysis experience. Has a broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and application architecture standards. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternate solutions. Experience designing, developing and testing applications using proven or emerging technologies in a variety of technologies and environments.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Advanced programming skills in several programming languages
• Advanced understanding of relational database design and theory
• Ability to translate complicated business requirements into multiple solution options and explain the pros/cons of various approaches
• Advanced knowledge of Object-Orient Design Patterns and use cases for applying them
