As an Operations Manager Sr. within PNC's Asset Management Group organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
Ideally the Operations Manager Sr. will be located in Pittsburgh. A subset of team members are in the office a few days a week, managers are in at least once a month and additionally as needed. The entire team is in the office once a month and additionally as needed. Candidates in other geographic locations will be considered with the expectation that they would need to be in Pittsburgh as needed.
The Operations Manager Sr. will oversee Employee Benefit Distributions within Asset Management Group Operations. The group is comprised of three teams – Processing, Audit and Control and a Call Center. Ideal candidate will be an individual with extensive Employee Benefit Distribution experience – including ERISA and IRS and State Regulatory Requirements.
The Processing Team is comprised of twelve team members and a manager. Their responsibilities include issuing recurring and lump sum payments via check and ACH which includes balancing each job and ensuring they route to the Print Center, OFAC Scanning, establishing and maintaining payer, payee and payment records, processing and remitting payments for numerous deductions withheld from payments to the client or third parties (i.e. medical insurance, union dues, child support, etc.), processing stop payments and ACH recalls, processing returned mail, providing copies of paid checks and tax forms, responding to inquiries received from the Institutional Line of Business in a group mailbox and reconciling all activity at the participant level on a daily basis.
The Audit and Control Team is comprised of eight team members and a manager. Their responsibilities include balancing daily payment and withholding transactions, reconciling and remitting tax payments to federal and state tax authorities, balancing and filing with the states each quarter, annual filing with the IRS, balancing the annual production of 1099R, 1099INT, 1099MISC, 1099NEC and 1042S tax forms, coordinating the annual W8 Solicitation, performing the annual TEFRA Mailing, distributing annual withholding election notices, testing the periodic tax updates to our application, ensuring we have appropriate procedures aligned with our controls and that our controls are appropriate, working with internal and external auditors and researching complex problems. This team is also responsible for uncashed check monitoring, escheatment, recommending enhancements to our system and to the applications that our system interfaces with, account conversions and deconversions and projects.
The Call Center Team is comprised of four representatives and a manager. They answer and return calls from the participants in the pension and 401(k) plans we support for the Asset Management Line of Business. They perform a sub-set of the Processing Functions based on the nature of their calls and what can be done over the phone is limited.
This position will interact regularly with other departments within PNC, including Corporate Tax, Legal, Technology, Office of the Customer, Print Center, the Institutional Line of Business, among others. They will also interact with external vendors who provide us with applications and/or services.
