Job Summary:

Avnet is looking for an experienced analyst to drive marketing performance tracking and data-driven insights for the Americas Region.

You’ll report into the Americas Marketing team, working closely with functional marketing experts (campaign management, marketing operations, and digital advertising), web developers, and colleagues from across the organization to extract data from disparate sources, and compile into Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards to provide performance visibility. You’ll also assist in strategic data consolidation initiatives beyond marketing.

While bringing your own technical knowledge and analytical skills, you must learn the Avnet business and what is critical to Sales, Marketing, and Finance to derive actionable insights from your reports.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Own the process of extracting, compiling, displaying, and analyzing performance metrics for the marketing team and, occasionally, other internal business units.
  • Understand the source data living in multiple systems (including Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics 4, Salesforce, Marketo, and third-party media agencies) and oversee the flow of that data into existing Power BI dashboards; fix (or explain) anomalies.
  • Analyze online user behavior, conversion data, customer journeys, funnel analysis and multi-channel attribution.
  • Benchmark performance across all online channels and advise on KPIs; analyze A/B and Multi-variate tests when needed.
  • In addition to individual campaign performance, paint an ongoing “macro” picture of marketing successes and non-successes, and be a trusted advisor to leadership on the tactical direction of marketing.
  • Proactively investigate and understand differences in “identical” data found in different organizational reports and Salesforce dashboards; document reasons and work to normalize whenever possible to ensure data integrity/consistency.
  • Respond to ad-hoc analytics requests and related-projects.
  • Recommend and implement reporting enhancements; spot opportunities to innovative new methodologies and improve analytical procedures.
  • To Sales and Marketing leadership, present on key metrics, insights, and trends you discover.

Job Level Specifications:

  • Knowledge of Power Query language, or SQL, and understand the extract/transform/load process of data to help build data visualizations and moving data between systems
  • Knowledge of web coding to some degree; can use the inspector panel to see network calls and use the console to look at the data layer (aids in understanding web analytics and using Adobe & GA4)
  • Experience working with Marketing, Finance, Sales, and Salesforce Analytics teams
  • Understanding the Marketing-to-Sales lead funnel
  • Strong facility with Microsoft Power BI. In addition to BI’s visual interface, must know the “Transform Data” function (the power query working behind the scenes).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excel needed to manipulate raw data, build pivot tables, and create graphs/charts; PowerPoint needed for creating decks which you will present.
  • Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
  • Salesforce. Know the structure of data in Salesforce (lead, contact, campaign, and opportunity objects) and how to navigate to connect to Power BI; understand the basics of how lead data flows between these objects.

Work Experience:

  • Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Certifications with Databricks environments are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Marketo or other marketing automation platforms a plus.
