Your Job
Responsible for forward sourcing and supplier management activities in support of the division’s overall strategic procurement objectives. To support in the development and implementation of commodities strategies with an optimized supply base in achieving competitive cost and technological advantage and assurance of supply throughout all the phases of the product life cycle.
What You Will Do
- Develop product roadmaps and strategies while leveraging the Principle Based Management (PBM) framework and mental models, including the Decision-Making Framework (DMF) thought process, to make the optimal financial and strategic decisions.
- Work closely with cross functional groups, including Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement and Finance to align and execute on key initiatives with “One Molex, one voice”.
- Understand financial impacts and develop pricing strategies for mature products and end of life activities.
- Identify and execute opportunities for product improvement and optimization to maximize profit.
- Maintain our strategic customer relationships during the development and execution of these strategies.
- Work closely with Sales and Management teams to develop clear customer communication on product and pricing strategies.
- Leverage information of PCN (product notification process) to Sales and customers.
- Leverage some QN handling when plant operation team needs some tough financial decisions.
- Understand and provide alternative products (internal and external if necessary) to provide possible future alternatives for our customers.
- Work with the New Product team to improve contracts at time of business award for better definition around end of life and service at the end of the program.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- College studies in the areas of Engineering, Marketing, Project Management, Business OR relevant connector work experience.
- The ideal candidate would be a strong problem solver to show strong economic thinking and negotiation skills, be resourceful and flexible, have an ability to lead cross functional groups, and drive internal and external customer engagements to execute the vision.
- Organizational skills to anticipate, plan, prioritize workload. Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
- Effective written and oral English communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express ideas, exchange information clearly and concisely, and deliver concise and effective presentations (key message) to customers and Molex personnel with respect.
- Be integrity, high level of interpersonal skills to effectively work with co-workers and external contacts to respond positively to situations.
- The candidate/incumbent must be proactive rather than reactive and must be able to demonstrate personal initiative.
- Travel to customers as needed.
What Will Put You Ahead
- MBA or other related graduate degree.
- 3+ years’ experience / knowledge within the global automotive industry.
- Experience in Product Management, project management or equivalent skillset
- Experience working with a manufacturing team, familiar with related processes
