- Part-time, Friday to Saturday (16 hours), one position available.
Position Description
Custodial needs for Permanent Supportive Housing communities with either Single Room Occupancy, or studio and one (1) bedroom units with shared kitchens, community rooms, trash and laundry rooms, as well as property management and supportive service offices, conference rooms, guest restrooms, employee breakrooms, reception and lobby areas. Exterior grounds with parking, raised gardens, dog areas and controlled entrances. This position will perform cleaning of all common areas and assist with vacant units. Custodian is also responsible for organizing janitorial supplies and inventory, and providing tenants with a safe, positive and sanitary living environment. All common areas and units must meet Housing Quality Standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean interior and exterior of community and immediate surrounding area.
- Clean all property exterior grounds, hallways and all interior common spaces and walls and remove garbage.
- Ensure sidewalks are always clean and free from slip or other hazards. Pressure wash as needed.
- Sweep and mop all floors and stairwells.
- Remove all garbage and recycling out to the garbage from all common spaces.
- Clean all offices, community areas and bathrooms.
- Clean door handles, elevator buttons, and common area equipment daily.
- Clean all laundry rooms, toss any abandoned clothing or other trash and sweep and mop all floors.
- Remove trash and clean trash area from each floor daily, or twice a day as appropriate.
- Assist with all unit turns. Pre-clean all vacant units before maintenance and bag up any garbage from unit.
- Be knowledgeable on cleaning products, equipment and how they are to be used.
- Keep up to date on effective low-cost solutions, energy efficiency, and best practices.
- Safely utilize PPE and maintain PPE inventory for all staff such as masks, gloves, booties, biohazard suites, sanitizers, wipes,etc.
- Carry a radio when on shift for all emergencies.
- Must be willing to travel to trainings and meetings at different locations.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, develop a plan and follow-through on projects.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities:
- Observe/follow guidelines on confidentiality rights of residents and respect the r privacy.
- Maintain accurate record of hours worked and turn in timesheets on schedule.
- Attend trainings required of employees and staff meetings as scheduled.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with residents/businesses in surrounding neighborhood.

Job Conditions
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, building temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, and odors. Other working conditions may include interruptions, working alone, evening or weekend work responding to emergencies and working on-call.

- Ability to understand custodial and maintenance manuals and apply the concepts.

- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds together with a team member.
- Ability to handwrite legibly.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and to plan, schedule and follow-through on projects.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, make small adjustments, etc.
- Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of janitorial/custodial experience.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work independently.

- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work within the mission, goals, and objectives of Coordinate Care Agency.
