Role Description:

Park Hill’s private equity group in London offers the Associate the chance to engage directly in advising “best in breed” private equity funds on all aspects of the capital fund raise – including corporate finance/advisory work, market positioning and ultimately raising capital from the top institutional investors across the globe.

Candidates for the position must possess strong knowledge of and interest in the alternative asset industry – specifically private equity – as well as at least 2 years prior experience at a directly comparable role. Candidates must also have a background in investment banking. The job requires management of multiple projects often under time constraints/deadlines, interaction and constant communication with clients and the global Park Hill Distribution team, and great attention to detail. In addition, Park Hill is seeking individuals who take initiative, understand the alternative asset space, work well under pressure, and would excel in a boutique investment banking environment.

All project management/corporate finance functions for the Private Equity team are based out of Park Hill’s London office. Each fundraising mandate is typically run by a two-person deal team – a project manager and a junior banker, with oversight and relationship management by a Partner.

The Associate serves as the point person on a variety of Park Hill mandates in overseeing the capital raise from start to finish. Along with a Partner, the Associate is the primary liaison between Park Hill’s private equity clients and the global Park Hill Distribution team. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the fund raise from building the online data room, working directly with clients in drafting offering memorandums and marketing materials, driving the book building process (coordinating all roadshow scheduling and logistics), and preparing for all due diligence meetings and supporting with legal, investor allocations and final closes.

The candidate will also be given an opportunity to play an important role in all aspects of the origination effort – including sourcing and performing intensive due diligence on a variety of private equity funds and strategies.

We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have excellent academic, leadership and extracurricular records.  In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • University Bachelors or equivalent
  • At least 2 years at a directly comparable role (i.e. Private Equity project management) is required
  • Previous investment banking experience is required
  • Demonstrated ability to draft investor presentations, PPMs, marketing materials, DDQ, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills (financial modeling and leverage buyout analysis) and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritise urgent requests accordingly
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a global team, often under pressure
  • Previous experience dealing with external client teams
  • Understanding of the global investor base, online data rooms and PE landscape
  • Confident and self-aware with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in a foreign language is also helpful
