This discipline involves a robust process of designing, creating, and optimizing systems. Key activities include identifying and quantifying system requirements, generating alternative design concepts, conducting design trade studies, selecting and implementing the best engineering approaches, and verifying proper integration and execution. The process spans from concept through production to operation.
This role significantly impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness objectives. It operates within established policy guidelines, offering moderate autonomy. High levels of operational judgment are essential to achieve the desired outcomes.
