Payroll/Benefits Coordinator
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll, taxes, and tax form preparation and filing (QuickBooks Desktop).
- Monitor, collect, calculate, classify, and verify timekeeping data.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including personnel and confidential files.
- Prepare W-2s, 1095C, 941, and DE5 forms.
- Process garnishments and new hire paperwork, including I-9s and W-4s.
- Support other payroll-related projects and assigned tasks.
HR & Benefits Responsibilities:
- Process employee contributions for health insurance and 401(k) plans.
- Oversee employee benefit elections and ensure benefits information is up to date.
- Manage bi-weekly, monthly, and annual benefits reports/payments, including employer payments for workers’ compensation, health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including benefit enrollment and termination.
- Prepare monthly wage reports, process payments, and manage workers' compensation insurance audits.
- Process and submit disability claims.
- Investigate and document workers’ compensation claims, communicate with employees, maintain records, and coordinate with adjusters.
- Post and monitor required federal and state workplace posters.
- Provide harassment prevention training and maintain compliance records.
- Update and distribute the employee handbook.
- Assist with accounting tasks and occasionally answer incoming phone calls.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing, HR, and employee benefits administration.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to payroll and benefits.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- Reliable and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
