Overview of Role:

Are you a talented Business Development Manager who can build and lead a winning team? Improve pipeline generation with an emphasis on quality measures rather than quantity and includes lead qualification and generating new business from new logo accounts. PagerDuty's Business Development Representatives (BDR) are responsible for developing and qualifying revenue opportunities within the Enterprise segment of our business. 

Their goal is to generate new business opportunities which fuel the Enterprise pipeline by conducting strategic research, educating potential buyers and facilitating the buyer journey using all forms of communication. As the Manager, you will play a key role by leading/managing/inspiring our highly motivated team. This role is meant for someone that has an appetite for thinking outside of the box and devising new and progressive strategies to support this critical function of our business. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Hire, Train, and coach the PagerDuty Business Development Team
  • Hold the team accountable to qualitative measures of success 
  • Develop Reps into sales-ready BDRs for future Account Executive positions
  • Conduct Reporting on sales activity and forecast to sales management
  • Motivate the team to exceed objectives through mentoring, showing results, and creative incentives
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvement in the areas of process, efficiency, and productivity

Basic Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of experience in sales management or sales development management, with an evident record of over achievement on quota expectations
  • Prior closing-role experience in cloud software/services sales 
  • Track record of sales success in a similar enterprise software application environment
  • Confirmed experience successfully leading people to achieve performance goals

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Exceptional communication, social and time management skills
  • Excellent presentation and listening skills
  • Ability to thrive in a very dynamic environment
  • Ability to hire, train and motivate new sales representatives 
  • Related Bachelor's degree

The base salary range for this position is 88,000 - 121,000 CAD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
