Key responsibilities include: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Sales and Marketing teams for select US, Global, and Asia equity strategies in Taiwan first, with potential exposure to other regions as needed. 
  • Serve as an expert on AB’s equity philosophy and investment process, product platform, and competitive landscape 
  • Develop strong materials and articulate portfolio positions and performance as well as competitive product positioning with conviction 
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create new sales ideas/ways to advocate product (e.g. Blogposts, thought leadership ideas), lead the creation of client servicing and prospecting messages to support sales objectives. Provide feedback to the investment team and business development team on client sentiment and region/channel sales priorities=Partner with broader Business development team to leverage knowledge and ensure consistent product messaging across regions 
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to create/improve RFP language, assist on/review RFPs, and answer advisor/relationship manager questions on specific sales opportunities 
  • Partner with Product Development on new products (or enhancement of existing products) for Taiwan  Assist Taiwan sales and product development in the launch of equity ETFs, including in creating promotional materials and messages 
  • For areas where the product manager has lead product and investment team coverage responsibilities include but are not limited to create and update prospecting and servicing decks, fact sheets and product flyers, competitive analysis, create new sales ideas/ways to advocate select products (blog posts, thought leadership ideas, market updates), partner with RFP team to ensure a consistent implementation of strategy positioning and language, work with data team to ensure accuracy of third-party database information and update internal data sources

Success in the role will lead to: 

  • Opportunities to engage with clients directly, especially in our important Taiwan retail business, on a curated range of AB Equities products 
  • Engagement with senior sales leaders in our Taiwan client group franchise 
  • Engagement with global equity portfolio managers on business opportunities and positioning 
  • Engagement with sales advisors globally on Asian services 
  • Opportunities to engage in AB’s QDII business in mainland China 
  • Regional travel opportunities for client engagement and/or sales meetings to enhance regional and global collaboration

Success in the role will be tied to:

  • Equity brand-building in Taiwan and the broader region
  • Ability to partner successfully with sales/client services, marketing and investment colleagues
  • Impact in internal and external client meetings
  • Contribution to marketing materials and thought leadership pieces

Job Qualifications & Key Attributes 

The ideal candidate should have: 

  • Post-graduate degrees (Masters’ degree) and/or CFA designation viewed favorably 
  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese 
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the investment-management industry (or related investment experience), with direct Product specialist and Client facing experience preferred 
  • Strong analytical abilities as well as advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • Ability to code and experience with eVestment, Morningstar Direct and/or Bloomberg viewed positively  Strong marketing and messaging skills, with the vision to create and maintain a compelling story for the firm’s equity business and individual products 
  • Broad investment-management and financial-market knowledge, ideally with expertise in equity products, and a deep understanding of the TW institutional and retail asset management space 
  • Intellectually curious about the capital markets, and finding creative ways to connect with our clients & prospects in Taiwan and globally 
  • Ability to influence decisions leveraging strategic insights based on experience/knowledge of equities and distribution Highly detail-oriented and organized with an ability to work effectively under pressure while multitasking, adhering to tight deadlines and maintaining strategic relationships with internal partners 
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and a team player with highly developed interpersonal skills, including collaboration, negotiation and influence
