This position is for an entry level Network Design Engineer role in the Verizon Global Network & Technology organization. You will be joining a team of engineers who are responsible for performing end-to-end (E2E) Interoperability (IOT) testing in Verizon's Network Device Evaluation lab. The primary focus of the E2E IOT testing effort is to identify quality and interoperability issues of pre-launch devices/UEs when tested against actual Verizon Wireless network elements and their production-representative configuration. Testing efforts will also focus on supporting post-launch device issue reproduction and testing of Software Updates (SU).

As a Network Design Engineer you will perform testing involving the above in a lab environment. Key activities include:

  • Test planning and documentation.
  • Test setup and coordination.
  • Test execution.
  • Log collection and validation analysis.
  • Test results documentation and reporting.
  • Troubleshooting of test case failures and verification of proposed fixes.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

In this hybrid full time position, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid role will be based out of Southlake, TX.

You’ll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related majors with a completion date of June 2024.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel and work in Southlake, TX.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of basic call processing and basic telephony, especially involving LTE and 5GNR.
  • Basic experience with scripting with Python, Perl, or similar programming/scripting languages.
  • Coursework or demonstrated experience with antenna and/or RF technologies.
