Agile Coach
Function Overview
Supporting the Development and Operations function of Global Information Systems - Global Product Organization (GIS-GPO), coaching work streams and teams responsible for the building out an agile enterprise.  This role reports to the head of the Development Operations (DevOps) function.   Will drive the implementation of a Development Operations (DevOps) culture and agile work practices throughout the Development Operations (DevOps) function and the greater Global Information Systems – Global Product Organization (GIS GPO) organization.  Oversee the transformation from a Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) model to an Agile Delivery process from requirements delivery through post-deployment warranty support.  Enforcing Industry Best Practice procedures and processes, training of Global Information Systems – Global Product Organization (GIS GPO) personnel on Development Operations (DevOps) /Agile tools, and collecting metrics to track the process improvement across the entire delivery pipeline.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Development Operations (DevOps) culture within Global Information Systems – Global Product Organization (GIS GPO)

  • Be a technical expert and thought leader, with Agile transformation skills and experience.

  • Create and implement innovative ideas to reduce time to market for the delivery process

  • Conduct hands on training, make training documents for all levels of Global Information Systems – Global Product Organization (GIS GPO) on existing or new process and using tools effectively

  • Provide mentorship and guidance for teams; ensuring Development Operations (DevOps) and Agile practices are understood and followed

  • Conduct Agile briefs to senior leadership to reinforce Development Operations (DevOps) operational and strategic roadmaps

  • Act as the Senior Agile Coach for Global Information Systems – Global Product Organization (GIS GPO); being the point of contact for Global Information Systems – Global Product Organization (GIS GPO) agile processes and supporting the varied request from Quality Assurance, Development, Architect, Service Operations, Scrum Master, and Product Owners

  • Provide day to day development, testing and delivery process oversight

  • Sustain the tools and systems in the delivery process

  • Assist up to three Scrum Masters and Agile Teams in the estimation of the user stories assigned  

  • Apply Agile Tools and Technologies to the Delivery Process to improve the Mean time to Value for development efforts

  • Document, Manage, and improve the Development Operations (DevOps) processes, policies, and procedures within the Agile Process

  • Be the Delivery Process subject matter expert

  • Support the day to day change and incident management of issues in the development, testing and production environments

  • Create and implement innovative ideas to reduce time to market for the delivery process, taking lead in rolling out such improvements
    Establish curriculums and training for all Agile stakeholders on existing or new processes and for using tools effectively

  • Provide metrics from the tools and processes to show improvements, usage, and compliance

  • Provide leadership within the Development Operations (DevOps) organization, and constantly seek continuous improvement opportunities

  • Develop long-term partnerships with the business customers and Whirlpool’s vendors to contribute to GIS-GPO’s strategic roadmap. Provide insight into the future direction of the industry and how it applies and helps achieve the business goals and objectives

  • Work with architects, technical leads, and infrastructure teams to prepare necessary

  • Development Operations (DevOps) processes, plans, cultural implementation; maintain the same

  • Apply Industry best practices around change management, architecture design.  Assist with planning the implementation timelines and address any questions or concern
    Facilitate a Development Operations (DevOps) culture and activities by promoting operational and automation opportunities across the Product Development environment.

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholder groups to work thru their test strategy and maintain a comprehensive test data management solution

  • Maintain necessary metrics to keep track of Development Operations (DevOps) activities to drive continuous improvement

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, business, or related fields

  • 10+ years of experience, 8 years which must be in the use of Agile methodologies and supporting tools

  • 3+ years’ experience as an Agile Coach for multiple Scrum Masters Project Management Institute (PMI) certified or working to complete

  • Certified Scrum Master

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other Project Management Institute (PMI) foundations a PLUS

  • Experience with Global Enterprise Agile Transformations or Building Agile Teams

  • Experience working in an Agility training / coaching role with exposure to large organizational transformations

  • Experience utilizing an Agile framework (e.g. Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban, SAFe) in software development

  • Organizational Change Management expertise

  • Experience working with Executives and Leaders

  • Solid oral, written, and presentation skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required

  • Experience in creating Agile training / workshop material

  • Able to handle conflict resolution well, facilitating discussion and alternatives of different approaches

  • Thought Leader who can communicate and drive continuous improvement

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment while effectively prioritizing and executing tasks while under pressure

  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of Agile business tools such as Lean, process design and productivity measurements

  • In depth experience working with information systems development life cycles including Waterfall and Agile

  • General knowledge of product development business processes

  • Knowledge of Agile software development systems and tools
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Professional Certification in Agile and Scrum (PCAS)

  • Certified Agile Coach
