The Opportunity

The Subcontracts Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting the Supply Lead to administer, manage and maintain subcontracts in accordance with Insitu Pacific's policies and procedures. The Subcontracts Specialist is also responsible for providing advice to management and staff on contractual matters on existing subcontracts and new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sub-contracting requirements in support of current and/or future opportunities for Insitu Pacific.
  • Manage end to end pre and post contract award.
  • Review proposals, negotiate contractual documentation and select or recommend suppliers.
  • Prepare and coordinate specific contract change proposals, subcontract change proposals and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Be the point of contact with assigned customers and subcontractor/supplier for all related contractual matters.
  • Ensure that Insitu Pacific conducts its contractual business in compliance with all Export and Import Control requirements.
  • Provide contractual support and advice to staff on matters relating to existing contracts and subcontracts.
  • Participate in existing and new business contract and subcontract negotiations.
  • Monitor and manage performance of subcontractors/ suppliers and provide reports to Supply Lead.

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role:

  • Tertiary qualification in a law or business-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in contract/subcontract management and administration.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • The ability to work accurately and unsupervised, and the ability to prioritise work as required and manage external/internal resources.
  • Demonstrated skills in successfully negotiating contracts / subcontracts
  • Understanding of budgets, cost control and financial performance management
  • Understanding of Defence Contracting policies and procedures is desirable
