About the role

Zillow is seeking a problem solver to join our growing Listing Import team. Our listings teams are responsible for ingesting the For Sale and For Rent listings that are core to Zillow’s customer shopping experience. We need an outstanding teammate with a real passion for ownership of complex problems, understanding their cause, the impact, defining solutions, and driving resolution. In this role, you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the systems that handle all real estate listings for Zillow Group.
  • Dive deep to track down root causes of real estate listing data issues (e.g. misstated prices, outdated status, incorrect photos) in large, complicated datasets flowing through numerous processing systems and help work with various resources to correct them.
  • Identify areas for real estate listing processing improvement with minimal supervision and take initiative to produce creative and effective solutions.
  • Work with our client teams and customer service to resolve a variety of issues impacting listing quality across Zillow brands.
  • Provide specifications for automated tools and feature requests to effectively resolve and prevent issues.
  • Document common customer service issues and how to resolve those issues.


About the team

Our team creates a comprehensive, quality set of real estate listings on Zillow at the fastest possible speed. We own the systems that process millions of listings and their photos each day, contributing directly to Zillow’s site experience and bottom line.


Who you are

  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • A self-starter with a passion for identifying and owning their solutions
  • SQL knowledge (ability to write complex queries). Familiarity with REST services, AWS technologies, XML, Splunk and Jira is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills – track issues and work with other parties to resolve issues
  • Great communication skills, including an ability to communicate recurring technical issues and communicate effectively with other teams
  • The ability to create documentation around support processes and issues usable by technical and non-technical users
