Assistant Property Manager (Local Government) - York City Housing Authority

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In your role as the Assistant Property Manager, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth functioning of a property, following the guidelines set by the housing authority and federal regulations. Your responsibilities will include conducting inspections of public housing units or similar program units, creating work orders, communicating with tenants about rent and charges, addressing any issues that arise, initiating eviction procedures if necessary, suggesting improvements for housing projects, calculating rent and charges, and handling various forms of correspondence. 

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours vary 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30 minutes lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in performing tasks associated with the management of multi-family housing developments, or properties owned or administered by public housing agencies; or 
  • Two years of comparable business, industrial, or professional employment; or
  • One (1) year as a Management Aide; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within York County. If no eligible candidates who live within York County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
