Personnel engaged in vehicle maintenance functions consisting of testing, troubleshooting and repair of all forms of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems of vehicles, Power Generations Equipment, Engineer Equipment, Special Purpose Equipment, Quartermaster Equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), hydraulic systems cylinder, hose fabrications, cylinder repairs/overhaul and Commercial-off-the Shelf Equipment Monitor daily shop operations (Equipment Status Report) and maintenance-related supply transactions. vehicles, heavy equipment, and material handling equipment special purpose vehicles, heavy equipment, and material handling GFE, if the asset is in such condition that it is beyond intermediate maintenance special purpose vehicles, heavy equipment, and materiel handling GFE to include removal, replacement, repair, alteration, calibration, and modification of assemblies, subassemblies, and components. Intermediate maintenance phases normally consist of calibration, repair, or replacement of damaged unserviceable parts, components, or assemblies; the emergency manufacture of non-available parts; and providing technical assistance to using organizations.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

  • Performs the duties of the MHE Lead in his/her absence.
  • Analyze malfunctions and leads personnel engaged in Field Level Maintenance operations for equipment and special purpose equipment such as material handling equipment (MHE), Firefighting apparatus/equipment and small engine systems and ground support equipment
  • Conducts planning and scheduling of maintenance and services for all equipment assigned equipment.
  • Establishes maintenance and repair schedules based on equipment schedules and availability of parts, tools, and personnel. Prepares personnel work schedules and monitors performance of subordinates.
  • Hand receipt holder for tools, equipment and spare parts assigned to the section.
  • Monitors work orders/production on all assigned equipment requiring corrective action.
  • Ensures daily reporting is annotated with current and updated information.
  • Maintain bench stock in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Determine the causes of equipment readiness deficiencies, take corrective action within their areas of responsibility, and provide feedback on systemic readiness problems.
  • Adheres to Performance Work Statement and enforces standards within the work area.
  • Provides reports on safety, quality, supply, and maintenance issues.
  • Performs routine inspections on internal sections.
  • Prepares and present/submit reports and briefings to management or for external agencies.
  • Oversees driver’s training program for Heavy Equipment, Special Purpose Equipment and MHE.
  • Performs environmental control duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Material & Equipment Directly Used: 

  • Computers, printers, scanner, calculator, FAX machine, copy machine, and other general office equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required (Outlook, Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint.

Working Environment: 

  • The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Physical Activities: 

  • Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications: 

  • Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required
  • Preferred degree in maintenance
  • Ability to obtain a Host Country Driver's License and Heave Duty Driver's License.
  • US Driver's License must be valid

Experience / Skills: 

  • 1 years Vehicle Maintenance
  • 1 year of leadership
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of maintenance and supply management.
  • Prior military training in vehicles, Utilities, Power generation, or Construction Equipment Maintenance or civilian equivalent.
  • Must be able to work with people of diverse background.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot, Service and Repair Vehicles Systems on different variations of equipment.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot, Service and Repair Caterpillar engines and equipment.
  • Possesses good customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills.
