This position is contingent based on contract award.

Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
- Oversee daily landfill operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Supervise as needed a team of landfill operators, providing direction, training, and support.
- Monitor and maintain landfill equipment, coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Implement waste disposal best practices and monitor landfill conditions regularly.
- Prepare and submit operational reports to management, including any incidents or
- safety concerns.
- Ensure all team members follow safety protocols and use protective equipment as required.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized tasks when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Material & Equipment Directly Used:
- Heavy machinery such as loaders, compactors, and other landfill equipment, along with safety
- gear.
- Personal computer, laptops, scanners, printers, telephones, 10 key calculators, data devices, and other office related equipment.
Working Environment:
- The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one
- hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and
- humidity.
- The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather.
Physical Activities:
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and others to perform job duties.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining landfill equipment.
- Ability to identify and implement safety and environmental best practices.
Education / Certifications:
- One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Waste Management or Environmental Safety are advantageous.
Experience / Skills:
- Experience in waste management, environmental science, or landfill operations is preferred, with a
- minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of landfill operations, waste management practices, and environmental regulations.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills, with the ability to train and support staff.
- Proficient in English for effective communication, both written and verbal.
- Computer proficiency, especially with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) for record keeping.
