R&D Department Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team. You will be mainly accountable for: • Responsible for structural design work related to measurement products, ensuring that it meets product design requirements. • Participate in team design discussions and possess the ability to complete mechanical development projects independently. • Be responsible for structural design work at various stages including verification, pilot production, trial production, and mass production during product R&D and manufacturing processes.This includes 3D/2D drafting, drawing maintenance, document preparation, BOM creation, etc. • Formulate and complete testing, acceptance, sample production, assembly, and related tests for products or parts. • Assist in solving mechanical-related issues throughout the product's entire life cycle.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Automation, or related fields; Master's degree is preferred.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in mechanical product design, development, testing, and validation.
• Familiar with product development processes and possess the ability to complete designs independently.
• Proficient in 3D/2D mechanical design software, with Creo being preferred.
• Possess certain hands-on skills and testing experience.
• Have a certain level of FEA analysis capability.
• Familiar with processes and designs related to die-casting, injection molding, machining, sheet metal, and part surface treatment.
• Good English communication skills.
• Strong work initiative, a sense of responsibility, diligence, and a teamwork spirit.
