Jacobs is looking for a Construction Cost Estimator in Guaynabo, PR to support our PRASA CIP team. This is a hybrid position subjected to the Program needs.

As the Construction Cost Estimator, you’ll have the opportunity to work on activities for design-build and traditional type construction projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary professionals. You’ll provide support to the Project Managers, Construction Managers, Construction Coordinators, and other Construction Group key staff by developing internal detailed construction estimates and reviewing the contractor’s unit price and lump sum proposed estimates, assisting in reviewing processes with the Jacobs construction management staff and contractors as necessary, performing cost analysis, and changing order construction cost estimates. Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Proficient skills in the area of current technology (Word, Excel, estimating, scheduling, and database software)
  • 5+ years’ experience working on facilities and/or infrastructure construction, involving all construction disciplines (electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, instrumentations and controls) as a Cost Engineer/Estimator
  • Demonstrated understanding of estimating organizational structure and process, including quantity takeoff, crew development, productivity relationships, material quotations, contingency/risk estimating, knowledge of markup structures, and estimating documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents and construction drawings to prepare cost estimates
  • Ability to understand project scope and create a construction cost estimate pertaining to the scope and specifications
  • Ability to perform material and equipment quantity take-offs from drawings and other technical documents
  • Ability to understand the construction process and break down a construction task to understand the material and labor involved, means and methods considering direct/indirect field and owner’s costs
  • Experience using industry estimating software, such as RS Means, Timberline, and MII Estimating systems
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates an ability to be responsible for the timely completion of tasks without excessive supervision
  • Able to travel to meet project needs
  • Able to meet deadlines according to program needs

66,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

95,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $66,000.00 to $95,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
