The Team: The Australian Individual Investor team is dedicated to presenting Morningstar's independent thought leadership, research, and data to the individual investor. We provide written and video commentary, investment analysis, tools, and data for individuals. Our ultimate objective is to help individual investors reach their financial goals.

The Role: Morningstar is looking for a talented Content Editor to join our individual investor team. The Online Editor is responsible for editorial strategy and production of Morningstar's individual investor-focused content on Morningstar.com.au. The site's mission is to leverage Morningstar's independent investment analysis and ratings, portfolio-allocation expertise, and investment strategies to create a compelling, differentiated, daily content experience for individual investors. This position is located in Morningstar's Sydney office and reports to Morningstar Australia's Senior Product Manager for Individual Investor Products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a cross-functional team (Product, PM, Marketing, Sales, and Development) to deliver editorial content to individual investors in Australia.
  • Work with the local and global Morningstar Equity Research Team, Manager Research Team, and Morningstar Investment Management team to define editorial topics and publish content on Morningstar.com.au and the Your Money Weekly Investing Newsletter.
  • The role will require the creation of videos, original by-lined feature articles, as well as edits/rewrites of analysts' research and commentary covering equities, managed funds and ETFs, fixed income, SMSFs, and local and international macro issues and trends.
  • Perform other duties from time to time.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus. Please attach a resume and cover letter to your online application.
  • 2+ years sub-editing experience.
  • Writing experience (financial services experience preferred but not required).
  • An understanding of, or desire to learn about investing related topics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate with several senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Ability to provide well written copy and edits in a timely manner.
  • Ability to write effective headlines, sub heads and rewrites.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
