Powerhouse Arts is a not-for-profit organization committed to creative expression. Housed in a purpose-built-facility in Brooklyn, the organization hosts an extended network of art and fabrication professionals and educators who work together to co-create and share artistic practices vital to the well-being of artists and the communities to which they serve. Our new facilities house fabrication services, production services, production spaces, and member workshops for artisans. In 2025, PHA expects to welcome in thousands of patrons as the building becomes a center for art and performance. Powerhouse is seeking Events Fire Guards to join our growing team and play an integral role in the first annual Brooklyn Fine Arts Print Fair scheduled March 27th, 30th and upcoming events throughout the year. This events-based role will support Powerhouse Arts’ Operations and Security team and will report to the Safety and Security Administrator and Associate Director of Operations.
The Events Fire Guard will play a key role in keeping guests safe at Powerhouse Arts during high-volume events. Fire Guards must carry a F04 certification from the FDNY. Fire Guards will be responsible for monitoring their posts during an event to ensure that attendees exhibit safe behavior and egress paths primarily are kept clear, along with responding to unsafe or emergency situations.
All Events Fire Guards will receive a facility onboarding before the event date and will be supported by Powerhouse staff at all times.
