Then join us now as Portfolio Manager/Product Specialist (VP/Director level) in Taiwan within our Global Artificial Intelligence team. This is a client-oriented product specialist and portfolio manager position. In this role, you will provide sales & marketing support and local management of several funds for the Global Artificial Intelligence strategies in Taiwan. You will play an integral role in the team in supporting all aspects of the business in Taiwan and have meaningful interactions with other senior professionals both internally and externally.

What you do:

  • Assist in the management of the investment team's onshore funds and acts as the voice of the represented investment team in Taiwan
  • Ensure investment portfolio operations comply with Taiwan local regulations (including but not limited to complete investment related mandatory reports and perform oversight to delegated activities).
  • Cover the products distributed in Taiwan by the represented investment team, with a focus on supporting business development activities, client service and on-shore mutual fund management.
  • Act as the interface between the represented investment team and the local sales and marketing entities; primarily support the business development activities of represented strategies in Taiwan and provide backup support for Asia Pacific as needed (you must be a qualified fund manager accredited by SITCA in order to carry out such activities).
  • Customize and distribute product information with a focus on the investment process, performance explanation, portfolio holdings and illustration of the investment case, according to the needs of the local sales teams.
  • Build an effective internal network with the sales and marketing professionals in Taiwan primarily, and Asia Pacific as needed, to effectively support business opportunities for the investment team.
  • Provide training to educate the sales force in the required technical details to present the investment strategy to clients.
  • Keep abreast of the strategy's performance in context of relevant competitor products and be able to explain performance scenarios relative to the market environment and peers
  • Provide regular updates to CIO and the core product specialist team on product development trends, competitor situations and demands from sales channels
  • Exchanges information with the represented investment team on a regular basis to stay updated on the latest developments, and to maintain superior knowhow for the regional sales process
  • Complete mandatory training required by Taiwan regulations (including but not limited to six hours training on futures and options related laws and regulations.)

What you bring:

  • At least 5 years' professional experience in portfolio management, institutional sales, product management or a high-end institutional client service role
  • At least 2 years' experience managing either a Taiwan domiciled Equity Fund or a Taiwan domiciled fund with significant Equity holdings
  • Must be a qualified fund manager accredited by SITCA
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for a diverse range of audiences and to clearly articulate investment content
  • Strong written and verbal command of English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Intellectual and cultural curiosity; interest in technological innovation and disruption
  • Communicate proactively to internal and external clients and responsive to their needs
  • CFA, CEFA or CIIA qualification desired.
