Supervisor - Centre of Excellence Cash Reconciliations and Investigation

What is the opportunity?

To support the growth of the IWM business by supervising the reconciliation and investigation team within the Reconciliations Centre of Excellence, ensuring an efficient, accurate and timely reconciliation and investigation service.

The role is responsible for executing the established control and risk management environment to ensure all reconciliations are produced in accordance with bank standards and regulatory requirements.

To provide reconciliation and investigation services initially for IWM British Isles, then extending to include IWM Asia and further expansion within the IWM Americas region.

 

What will you do?

  • Work with the Manager / Assistant Manager to implement and operate effective controls and operational service efficiencies. When required produce relevant performance metrics for the Manager/Assistant manager
  • Ensure all reconciliation and investigation activity is completed and performed in accordance with documented procedures. Perform complex investigations, provide advice / guidance on corrective action
  • Contribute to the development of processes/standards/policies/guidelines/tools, as required, to facilitate compliance with bank standards and regulatory/risk initiatives. Leverage the value in team, department and IWM wide teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross –business mindset
  • Ensure operating processes and procedures relating to reconciliations and investigations are continually reviewed and are embedded in the working practices of the team.
  • Undertake/Oversee investigation, reporting and remedial action in relation to any related loss events
  • Monitor the chasing of statements to ensure receipt and monitor generic email boxes for receipt of statement and queries
  • Supervise reconciliation and investigation team in order to support multiple business lines and act as escalation point for issue resolution within the team and wider Reconciliations CoE
  • Ensure any outstanding items exceeding agreed timescales are esculated for management review
  • Supervise a team of operational professionals with a focus on excellence, collaboration and teamwork in serving the end client and realizing on the business potential. You will provide focus and clarity within the team by establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development and rewarding strong performance. Ensure that employees understand RBC vision and values and support / reinforce behaviours that contribute to RBC goals

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Experience of supervising reconciliation and investigation activity within a high volume business
  • Strong supervisory skills 
  • Understanding of double entry bookkeeping
  • Extensive knowledge of  RIBS/MILVUS / Online services / Internet applications
  • Good knowledge of Excel / macros

 

Nice-to-have

  • Working knowledge of IntelliMatch/IntelliTracs and Crystal reports
  • Relevant qualification
  • Technical knowledge relating to Treasury Products and Custody products
