Job Title: High School Campus Section 504/MTSS Facilitator (In Anticipation of Future Openings)

Reports to: Campus Principal

Base Salary: Teacher Pay Scale

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Manage the campus Section 504 program and oversee provision of needed services. Oversee compliance with all state, federal, and local Section 504 requirements. Manage the campus Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework, communicate, and respond to District requirements regarding intervention supports as a component of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's Degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teacher certification

Special Knowledge/Skills: 

Well organized, flexible self-starter who completes and resolves tasks independently and on time

Ability to grasp new learning

Effectively facilitates meetings

Knowledge of current laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines related to disability discrimination in public schools, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Texas Education Agency, and the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR)

Knowledge of the relationship and differences between Section 504 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

Knowledge of accommodations for students with impairments

Knowledge of District, state, and other relevant testing procedures

Knowledge of a Multi-Tiered System of Support model within school settings

Familiarity with methods of organizing and disaggregating data to support student and campus needs and goals

Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Student focused and ability to work effectively with peers to establish positive relationships with all stakeholders

Experience:

Minimum of three years of teaching experience

Secondary teaching experience preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

General:

Document and maintain student records in the District’s management system.

Attend trainings, as designated or assigned, related to District, state, and CCMR-related testing.

Collaborate with the Campus Testing Facilitator to support administration of all District, state, and CCMR-related testing and ensure students receive appropriate testing accommodations.

Maintain cooperative working relationships with parents, staff, and other district personnel.

Maintain effective and timely written and oral communication with parents, staff and other campus personnel.

Perform other functions that may be assigned by the campus administration and/or supervisor.

Complete other duties as assigned

Campus Section 504 Facilitator:

Attend all District training regarding Section 504.

Monitor campus Section 504 procedures.

Oversee school personnel’s access to and verification of a student’s Section 504 plan for compliance.

Maintain proper Section 504 documentation and oversee the security and confidentiality of all student information.

Coordinate, plan, and facilitate Section 504 meetings to comply with federal regulations.

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support/Student Support Team (MTSS/SST) Facilitator:

Lead the scheduling, coordination, monitoring and facilitation of campus meetings related to MTSS and RTI.

Lead and oversee the campus MTSS/Student Support Team policies, procedures, and timelines.

Provide ongoing MTSS implementation and professional development support to campus administrators and Student Support Team including coordinating ongoing check-ins between departments to ensure system alignment.

Maintain and oversee the security and confidentiality of student information according to FERPA guidelines.

Attend all designated District-level meetings and professional development sessions related to MTSS.

Monitor the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at the campus level including academic and non-academic intervention supports.

Assist teachers and instructional staff in addressing student needs using the MTSS framework including providing guidance on strategies, tools, and techniques to effectively instruct all students.

Monitor District processes to ensure campus compliance and adherence to district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations and disseminate information to appropriate personnel as needed.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Prolonged use of computers. Districtwide travel. May require occasional lifting, carrying, and transporting of boxes weighing 25-35 lbs.
