Job Title: Residential Supervisor 2
About the Position:
We are currently seeking a high energy, self-starting individual to supervise the Supportive Living Units (SLUs) in Brooklyn, New York. A person's managerial and clinical skills will be maximized in an interdisciplinary team environment, where there is ongoing support and training.
The SLU Supervisor 2 is responsible for providing staff training, mentoring and supervision of 15-50 Direct Support Professionals, or based on program needs. The Supervisor 2 will need to be able to provide program oversight,
quality assurance, maintain NYS regulations, oversee clinical programming, be an advocate for the people we support and be a liaison with families.
The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for working directly with people of all ages with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities, creating new opportunities for Living, Loving, Working, and Learning. We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic Supervisor to work with this active group of people, who has the ability to handle challenging situations with patience and understanding.
Program Description
The Brooklyn Supportive Living Units (SLUs) have 31 people that we support in apartments throughout the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Some of the people we support live alone in their own apartments while some have roommates. Most of the people we support go out into the community, to medical appointments, and to job sites independently.
The people living in the SLUs are independent with most of their activities of daily living, and assertively communicate their wants & needs. Staff encourage residents to go out, travel, and socialize with their peers & members of the community. Staff encourage independent and responsible decision making and actions by the people we support. Staff are trained and expected to provide individualized supports to each unique person.
