Role Summary

Based in Dubai (or within IMEA region), the Senior Manager, Market Operations will have overall

accountability for managing a subset of supplier relationships across the Packaging Category within

a defined region. This includes being responsible for the planning, organization, directing and

controlling of the supply of packaging which is produced for our customer(s) within their restaurants

(QSR segmentation).

The role will deploy and manage a consistent global supplier engagement framework, supplier

performance metrics, and sourcing strategies. The primary responsibilities for the role include

managing assured supply of packaging products, supplier development, supplier selection, supplier

performance and capacity and contingency management. The role will also provide regional

program/project management across the IMEA markets – leading and delivering complex projects

from preliminary concept through national commercialization/execution. Pending the project, there

will be a combination of two scenarios: 1) transition of project from Globally led to Regional

implementation 2) Regional / Market initiated to commercialization.

This individual will collaborate internally with the Product Management, Commercial Delivery, and

Category Management functions as well as Quality and SIPD. From an external engagement

perspective, in addition to being the primary relationship owner for our supply base, the individual

will provide support as a subject matter expert to our customer when necessary.

Main Interfaces/Relationships

  • Internal: Internal Supply Chain Functions (PM, PD, QA, SRM), Commercial Delivery and

Category Management, HAVI/TMS Leadership

  • External: Suppliers, Customer

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Strategic management of suppliers that results in a supply base that delivers uninterrupted

supply of core and promotional product to the system at a level of quality, innovation, and cost,

consistent with the customer’s standards and expectations.

  • Utilizes advanced project management skills to lead cross-functional teams; develop and

manage project objectives and timelines, including milestones, deliverables, and critical path;

address technical challenges and ensures risk profiles and mitigation plans are developed and

executed for each project via formal risk assessments.

  • Support Supplier Relationship Management programs across the supplier base in the defined

region

  • Conduct supplier meetings as defined by the supplier engagement framework including

business reviews, joint business planning sessions and performance management reviews

  • Manage supplier performance against defined metrics and ensure that suppliers are

demonstrating continuous improvement in both the outlined foundational business

requirements as well as transformational business strategies.

  • Manage raw material and risk management aspects of the packaging supply chain both at

strategic level and regarding supply contingency and pricing fluctuations.

  • Implement supplier strategies against the product category roadmaps to meet overall category

needs and the customer’s long-term business objectives

  • Serve as the escalation point for supplier issues across the business.
  • Manage and implement overall supplier capacity requirements to support the product

strategies and roadmaps inclusive of any necessary supplier investment strategies.

  • Manage execution of supplier contract management in partnership with Procurement Services.
  • Facilitates dialogue with the leadership team to manage project prioritization and resource

utilization on assigned projects.

  • Partners with various Supply Chain Teams to drive consistent and reliable delivery on

multifaceted projects.

  • Builds and maintains exceptional business relationships with internal/external stakeholders

(including the customer) through project leadership by providing on-going project

communications and status updates.

  • Leads the prioritization of projects across a specific region by:

o Having visibility to the market/s strategic direction

o Understanding the customer's needs and the internal BU's needs

o Evaluating needs vs resource capacities

o Presenting findings and offering a recommendation to internal Leadership team

Knowledge & Years of Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum 7 years in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Category Management and/or packaging-related industry/discipline with demonstrated success in Packaging commercialization.
  • At least 3 years of Project or Program Management experience delivering moderate to large, complex technical packaging projects on-time and within budget for CPG, Food Service, Quick Serve Restaurants, or other related industries.
  • Demonstrated delivery of Supplier Management and Supplier Performance Management that result in measurable outcomes (e.g. Innovation, Supply Chain Stability, Sustainability, Cost Savings)
  • Experience in leading a multi-disciplined team with the ability to lead, thrive, provide guidance, and navigate through ambiguity.
  • Experience and familiarity with formal, financially driven business case methodology and development.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the food/consumer goods area and/or consumer package technology a plus.

Skills:

Required:

  • Strong leadership skills in driving delivery through a matrix organization: advanced business acumen, communication, facilitation, interpersonal, influencing, relationship-building and presentation skills.
  • Solid theoretical knowledge of primary package design and manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Highly collaborative, skilled facilitator and meeting manager that can rein in meeting participants and keep groups/teams on task – Influence with authority.
  • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to details.

Preferred:

  • Excellent communicator at all levels of the organization, including stakeholders both internal and external. Ability to flex communications (both verbal and written) to intended audience.
  • Initiative and comfort within an autonomous environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with technical project management tools such as timelines, GANTT charts, or similar PPM tool, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Other Abilities:

  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment and deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to tap into, leverage, influence, and communicate throughout all areas and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to identify issues, root causes, and resolutions.
