Job Description / Skills Required


To implement tax planning and structuring on company and group level. To ensure relevant processes & internal controls are in place in order to facilitate Clickatell’s compliance with statutory & tax requirements across the group.

Reporting to:

The Chief Financial Officer

Key responsibility areas:

- Tax planning and responsibilities

o Overall group tax planning and structuring and per Clickatell entity

o Design and implement operational, compliant and tax efficient structures to optimize returns for the Group

o Preparation, management and submissions to Tax Authorities of VAT and Corporate Tax calculations, controls and advice for all legal entities within the group

o Responsible for the oversight and planning of any tax related audit

o Preparation of tax schedules including working within the designated subsidiaries / regions

o Responsible to stay abreast of all developments in relevant tax and VAT regulations and as it relates to the entities within the Group

- Transfer Pricing

o Responsible for transfer pricing policies, benchmarking, calculations, and allocations for all entities across the Group

o Responsible for the development, maintenance and submission of all documentation requirements associated with transfer pricing for all entities across the Group

o Responsible to stay abreast of all developments in transfer pricing and as it relates to the entities within the Group

o Responsible for maintaining transfer pricing systems and tools (OneSource)

- General -

o Instructing, working with and managing external consultants, when required

o Manage business insurance needs for the group. Ensure policies are up to date and reviewed at least once a year. Ensure all insurance claims are submitted on a timely manner to the insurance broker

o Provide support to the FP&A team and Accounting team, ensuring they understand tax and VAT implications of existing and new products/services and are accurately accounting therefore

o Provide support to Commercial Managers as required

o When required, support to the Legal team for all company secretarial & Corporate governance related functions and reporting

o Assist the Finance Director in the financial internal controls of Clickatell companies

- Experience of creating and sustaining a culture of responsive, timely, reliable and knowledgeable service to users

- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage personal and departmental schedules effectively to meet tight deadlines

- Project management skills

General Competencies:

- Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills both within the team and among other departments

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and build credibility

- Willingness to work outside of normal office hours when circumstances dictate

Experience and Education:

- Master Degree in Corporate Tax

- CA (SA) with 5 years’ post article experience

- IFRS and US GAAP experience

- Proficient in IBM Cognos tools (TM1) and OneSource

- Tax and Financial planning and modelling experience

- Experience in creating and maintaining complex spread sheets. Advanced MS Excel skills essential
