We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Designer with a passion for product design to assist in the development of interactive web and mobile applications as part of our dynamic Fintech solutions team.

Every project is different and brings its own set of challenges. Expect to be working on a roster of brand name clients from around the globe including Asia, Australia, Western Europe, Great Britain, and the US.

This is a broad role that combines Design and BA requirements. The role will have a key focus on working as part of our product design team to create and finalise designs based on client concepts. The role will also assist in documenting requirements, developing designs and specifications for hand-off to our Agile development teams as well as working with the development team to ensure tasks are implemented correctly. You will also be involved in QA testing of requirements so will get to ensure the outcomes from your requirements meet clients’ needs. 

You will be collaborative in nature and ready to support the junior team members in our “flat-structured” development environment. You will need to be comfortable working within a Agile software development environment and be flexible enough to adapt to changing conditions and approaches. 

Candidates will need to thrive on preparing detailed specifications and designs, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to see the client perspective in the delivery of quality solutions.

The Role

Requirements scoping

  • Assist in organising and participate in requirements gathering workshops
  • Document business and functional solution requirements 
  • Coordinate with technical experts to establish technical product requirements
  • Provide input and assist in the defining of user stories and development tasks
  • Collaborate on defining testing strategies and plans
  • Create testing requirements for user stories and development tasks

New product design 

  • Develop detailed UI/ UX product designs and workflows based on client concepts 
  • Work with the Product Manager to ensure client requirements are met 
  • Create and implement design systems 
  • Modify and revise existing designs and content based on stakeholder feedback 
  • Draft and edit wireframes as needed
  • Develop design concepts into functional prototypes
  • Plan, organise and coordinate user testing sessions
  • Document user testing results 
  • Share results with stakeholders and agree updates to be made
  • Maintain and advance the design system
  • Maintain a re-usable components design library and specifications 
  • Coordinate with third party vendors to ensure accurate communication and efficiency in the design phase

Support product development 

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers other BAs and designers to ensure developed tasks are aligned with client requirements
  • Coordinate task preparation for development, including input from design, retirement actuaries, development, QA and PM 
  • Provide input into and assist in the documenting of User Stories and development tasks
  • Ownership for the creation of testing requirements for Use Stories and development tasks
  • Undertake functional testing and provide QA signoff that developed tasks meet client requirements 
  • Provide design support to the development team implementing the designs
  • Manage User Acceptance Test execution and approval
  • Take ownership of QA testing and UAT deliverables and signoffs

Quality and efficiency 

  • Proof-read wireframes and designs to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Contribute to streamlining the graphic design function, including leveraging re-usable components design, as appropriate 
  • Work with QA team to ensure the designs are followed to a high standard 
  • Promote good collaboration in the team by assisting in solutioning, identifying risks, and resolving impediments/issues/defects.
  • Make recommendations on process improvements
  • Support building the design Community of Practice within Outsourcing GB and WTW to support wider adoption of design-thinking framework for innovation and achieving target customer/member outcome. 

Marketing 

  • Assist in developing marketing materials and undertaking marketing campaigns

  • UI/ UX design experience and commitment to furtherdevelop design skills 
  • FIGMA design skills or willingness to learn FIGMA design software
  • Commitment to develop appropriate documentation

  • Must have a strong work ethic and be a flexible, fast learner/self-starter with a willingness/ability to acquire new skills and work on projects outside immediate area of expertise
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to decompose problems and/or processes into logical parts
  • Strong communication skills, and with ability to tailor communication style and medium to the audience
  • Proficient Business Analysis skills, including User story creation, user test preparation and management
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
