The Dow Chemical Company is looking for an Account Manager (m/f) - Bangladesh

Job Summary
Co-ordinate and lead business activities between Dow businesses and the nominated strategic accounts from select markets in a professional manner to achieve individual and company businesses objectives as set out in the business plan.
Job Role & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain all core business at the key strategic accounts and markets.
  • Grow Dow business in designated markets and nominated strategic accounts by helping the customers grow, either by
    (a) Replacing competitive products; or
    (b) Increasing the number of applications for Dow products used
  • Prepare and implement market and account plans which reflect the needs of the markets and nominated strategic accounts and which are aligned with Dow business plans.
  • Be responsible for the markets and strategic accounts input to contribute to the preparation of quality business plans for the Dow businesses.
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of contract proposals and lead/conduct negotiations aimed at win/win conclusions with advice and consultation from Sales / Business Manager. Manage those contracts strictly as negotiated.
  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure customer satisfaction, meet agreed targets, Complaint resolution and "right first time". Ensure customer and distributor expectations in account management, technical support and product training are met.
  • Contribute to regional co-ordination of the communication activities between all Dow Account Managers dealing with various markets.
  • Ensure sales projects are being identified with the customer and entered in the SAP system; also that appropriate new technology is introduced as part of the agreed customer strategy in a timely fashion with Sales Manager & Business Manager involvement.
  • Obtain, evaluate and process forecasts for all nominated strategic accounts and distributors to meet the needs of the customers and to form part of the S&OP input.
  • Ensure all nominated distributors and strategic accounts pay to agreed trading terms. All non-conforming terms to be agreed with Sales Manager.
  • Obtain market intelligence and monitor competitor's activities. Provide inputs to business on market trends, pricing changes.
  • Undertake any additional tasks required by DOW to meet the business needs of the organization consistent with the responsibilities of an Account Manager.

Key Decisions

  • Propose when technical service is required, and identify detail and priority. Arrange these with Technical Service personnel charged with support for the area in consultation with Sales Manager.




Must have a Master's as a minimum ideally with a Batchelor in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry

Excellent communication skills

Fluency in spoken and written English

Ability to adapt and work in a fast paced environment

Flexibility to travel 50% of the time

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to mix with external stakeholders

High level of proficiency in IT skills such as Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc
