Job Summary

PSEG is seeking an intern within the corporate Human Resources Department within the Benefits team.

Human Resources supports the business functions across the enterprise in areas that include: Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Health and Safety, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Benefits Administration, Compensation, and Data Analytics. As companies reorganize to gain a competitive edge, HR plays a key role in helping companies deal with an ever-changing environment and the greater demand for quality employees and business continuity. 

This summer internship position will be hybrid (a combination of in office and remote work)

Job Responsibilities

Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:

  • Support the Benefits Department in the day-to-day administration of the 401(k), pension, and Health & Welfare plans
  • Performs weekly reconciliations of HRIS and vendor data to ensure data integrity, and partners with the applicable internal or external stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies
  • Conduct research on employee benefit appeals

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Human Resource Management, Leadership/Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration or Liberal Arts. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed freshman level course work for consideration. 

Preferred:

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Intermediate Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong analytical skills and superior attention to detail
  • Strong time management, organizational and communication skills

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
