Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) is an integral part of Arm Korea Sales force, reporting to the Korea FAE Manager, and works as a part of World Wide FAE team. The main responsibility is to develop and win design-in opportunities of Arm IP (Intellectual Property) products in Korea and ASEAN region through relevant expertise and technical activities. In the technical pre-sales role, the FAE works closely with Account Sales Managers and other FAEs to develop and carry out technical pre-sales strategies on the accounts. It is important that the FAE can create, report and execute on key account strategies aimed at growing the business of Arm products within the customer.

The FAE will participate in defining new solution or services with Arm product groups. The FAE is expected to maintain a high standard of technical knowledge in relation to our products, services and competitors. Acting as a technical expert, the FAE is also responsible for monitoring and coordinating the post-sales support to the customers with the Applications Engineering team.

What will I be accountable for?

  • Identify and pursue licensing and design win opportunities of Arm Graphics and Multimedia IPs.
  • Present and demonstrate technical details of Arm Graphics and Multimedia IPs with relevant Arm System IPs.
  • Make appropriate Arm product recommendations to fit with customer requirements.
  • Develop sound professional relationships with key engineers, architects and decision-makers at the customers.

Critical Success Factors

  • Strong desire to grow sales and win business through above accountabilities. 
  • Full understanding of customer business and technical development plans.
  • Working knowledge of Arm IP products and their implementations and applications (e.g. Arm Mali Graphics and Multimedia IPs, interconnects, memory systems) and EDA design methodologies.
  • Critical thinking of product positioning against competition and ability to present a strong case in front of customers.
  • Ability to identify customer requirements and effectively feed such information back to Arm product management teams.

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

  • Eight or more years of experience in developing or/and supporting SoC design, SoC-based system.
  • BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Graphics and Multimedia IP products for SoC architecture design.  Experience with Computer Vision and Machine Learning is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Verilog/VHDL, verification IP, EDA and benchmark environments.
  • Good understanding of physical IP products.

  • Good presentation skills, able to clearly express technical concepts. 
  • Previous customer-facing experience like FAE is a plus.

About the office

The Arm Korea office is located in Seongnam, 26km southeast of Seoul, mostly consisting of Sales and Marketing covering key silicon partners such as Samsung, Hynix and LG as well as many fab-less companies, government sectors and universities.
