Job Summary

Registered Nurse is the designation given to an individual who is licensed to practice professional nursing, holds ultimate responsibility for direct and indirect nursing care, is a graduate of an approved school for professional nursing, and is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse pursuant to M.G.L. c.112. Included in such responsibility is providing nursing care, health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning and restoration for optimal functioning and comfort, of those they serve.

The Registered Professional Nurse functions as a health care team leader responsible for the safe delivery of patient-centered, goal oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Professional Nurse also directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Has a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.

Education

  • Associates Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred.

License & Certifications

  • RN License - Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts
  • CPR Required.

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrates continuing education in accordance with State regulations. Assures compliance with unit-specific scope of practice. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of the position can be fully met.

Other Addendum(s) Requirements

  • 2 years medical/surgical experience required
  • Current knowledge and skills in IV therapy nursing required
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate care of the patient receiving infusion therapy
  • PICC certification preferred
  • Chemotherapy administration experience preferred
  • ONS Chemo/Bio course must be completed within 12 months and renewed every two years

Master Schedule

MNA Union Position

Shift 1, 32hrs, 7:00am-3:30pm

Week 1: Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat

Week 2: Sun, Tues, Wed, Thurs

Week 3: Mon, Tues, Fri ,Sat

Week 4: Sun, Tues, Wed, Thurs

Nursing Alternate Shift: Night

Rotating weekends and holidays
