Project Logistics is a specialized subset of the logistics industry that involves the global orchestration of material flow, order management, and shipment execution from multiple origins to a defined site location. The Opportunity
The role as Landside Procurement Manager offers a great opportunity to be part of a winning team and be a strong enabler in shaping the success of our growth journey and focus on Project Logistics. You will be part of building up our Procurement function in Europe and be part of the Maersk Project Logistics (MPL) Product who desires to deliver best in class service, effective communication, cost awareness and continuous improvements, which supports our growth aspirations and the success of our customers. The position is located in Aarhus, Denmark.
Key Responsibilities:
As Landside Procurement Manager you will have an important role in the Procurement & Chartering function supporting our Growth, Solution Design and Operations (CoE) departments throughout the European region within all aspects of landside procurement.
The position requires a strong commercial and operational mindset where experience with road transport for project cargo and general cargo flows is key. Within the landside category you will support your stakeholders in delivering tailor-made logistics solutions to our customers.
Your main responsibilities will, among others, be:
Contact and close cooperation with vendors within heavy/oversized haulage, full or part load trucking and container haulage.
Negotiations and contracting with approved vendors and carriers using Maersk contracts
Input provider to internal stakeholders on customer tenders
Supplier performance, risk management and QHSE compliance – together with relevant MPL stakeholders
Map, select and develop landside vendors in the European region
Contribute to developing cooperation with strategic suppliers
Detect and explore market trends
Updated on national and international rules and regulations

To succeed in this role, we believe that you can offer:
Preferably +3 years of experience from a similar position or from a freight forwarder, trucking company or an OEM
Know-how within the area of road freight and preferably, complex cargo moves
Strong connection with vendors within the segment
Ability to “close the deal” and take quick fact based decisions
Project Management skills and experience from Project Logistics or would be an advantage, but not a requirement
Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written fluency in English
Eagerness to be best in class and be part of a winning team
Ability to thrive in a build up atmosphere and contribute to our growth journey
Ability to be flexible when needed as our job is not always 8-16
Ability to travel approx. 10-20 days a year
