The Product Management Leader for Oracle Social Cloud Service (SCS) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Oracle SCS’s customer and business facing features.

 

We are searching for a leader who is extremely technical, product-oriented, and business driven, with a deep knowledge of the social data and analytics space. This person constantly thinks about customer success stories, overall big-picture product strategy, how to increase the revenue of the SCS platform, and how to grow the feature set at a rapid pace to not only be competitive but raise Oracle to the level of thought leadership in social analytics.

 

This leader will work cross functionally with our Research & Development, Data Science, Engineering, and Product Management teams to drive our product vision and achieve strategic business objectives, creating a credible competitor to existing industry leaders in a short timespan. Responsibilities also include developing and reshaping the product management organization, analyzing current & future product performance, driving efficiencies in customer use-cases, and refreshing our UX design on the web and exploring opportunities in mobile.

 

We seek an accomplished, energetic, collaborative leader who is a clear champion of our platform. The ideal candidate has involvement in or ownership of patents in the technology space. An understanding of our users as well as knowledge of and passion for the rapidly evolving social data ecosystem is a must. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in developing products that use machine learning technologies, with particular expertise in big data platforms, REST API architectures, and a keen understanding of UX design for complex features. At all times showing direct revenue impacts from product accomplishments is a must.

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • 10+ years’ experience in related product management, preferably in a successful SaaS organization involved in big data
  • 15+ years’ experience leading and managing large software development projects that show significant revenue impacts
  • Expert knowledge of Agile development methods
  • Competitive and acutely driven to build the best big data social platform in the industry
  • Experience working and communicating with offshore teams
  • Executive experience that had direct customer engagement
  • Direct experience creating user stories and working with development and UX teams
  • History of strong leadership to drive recruiting the strongest product managers
  • Proven ability to work across teams
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and other product management tools
  • Ability and desire to improve product management processes to better interface with development teams
  • Possesses big-picture vision to establish Oracle as a thought leader in big data, machine learning, social analytics, and marketing

  • Own the product vision and drive it forward
  • Demonstrate direct revenue increases as a result of product strategy
  • Promote the Product Management culture so every team member drives toward our goals
  • Works directly with direct reports to drive product development from conceptualization through launch - creating actionable plans, development epics, and establishing a process to bring features to market
  • Leverage data, analytics, and competitive analysis to make strategic product decisions about which features to develop and when
  • Ability to recognize and drive development of features that will disrupt the market
  • Deep understanding of the customer- works always to identify new opportunities to improve their experience.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Vice President in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the creation of division strategy and consults with senior management in providing direction to ensure growth and financial success. Ensures a consistent approach of organizational policies and procedures. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Successful track record in software engineering management or related experience.
