POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the technical aspects for new custom application development initiatives (internal line-of-business applications) within the organization. As the Solutions Architect, you will help build and integrate cloud-based information and computer systems that meet specific needs. The Solutions Architect is accountable for the end-to-end customer cloud deployment experience, from concept development to deployment. The ideal candidate will carry a proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  • Serve as the senior Azure technical resource for CDCN and envision, lead, and manage initiatives to adopt cloud-based solutions
  • Serve as principal resource for designing solutions for the deployment of transaction processing workloads into Azure
  • Provide technical leadership for IT team on custom development best practices and methods
  • Work with vendors and contractors when necessary; provide guidance and work assignments to contractor staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Operate in a multitude of applications to complete projects

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or management information systems
  • 5+ years of working experience with Microsoft Server products
  • 2 plus years experience with troubleshooting, configuring and supporting Network and Hybrid scenarios
  • 5+ years of architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications
  • 2+ years of experience in “migrating” on premise workloads to the cloud
  • Deep technical experience in one or more of the following areas: Software design or development, Cloud Application Design, Mobility, PaaS
  • Working knowledge with AGILE development, SCRUM and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) with one or more of the following programming languages: .NET, C++, Java, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails, Pig/Hive
  • Oversight experience on major transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams
  • Working knowledge in several areas of Azure PaaS/ IaaS/Data Warehouse, Azure deployment, Dep Ops, ARM template, Application Insights, PowerShell Scripting, Security, High Availability, Azure Storage, Azure Virtual Machine, Backup / Disaster Recovery, Patching, Clustering, service resilience, SQL Azure, ADLS and distributed systems etc
