As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing the quality a group of component suppliers that serve our businesses and in-house factories in the Americas.

What you’ll do

  • This role is responsible for end-to-end quality & sustainability relationship with the allocated supply base.
  • This role qualifies suppliers, validates, and releases components and related manufacturing processes using Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) methods and has the responsibility to veto if necessary.
  • Responsible for defining and implementing supplier quality functional excellence initiatives.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree completed in Engineering.
  • +8 years experience in Supplier Quality, mechanical components.
  • Experienced in component release (PPAP, AQP) and problem solving (8D methodology).
  • Confirmed knowledge of different commodities: aluminum die-casting, aluminum extrusion, plastic extrusion, plastic injection mounding, sheet metal, general optical knowledge, optical characteristics of materials, optical measurements, lighting applications.
  • Has strong understanding of relevant commodity technology and business domains.
  • Manage risks with a differentiated approach.
  • Apply the respective AQP project and release methodology with the supplier in full collaboration with the project team.
  • Train SQ and AQP tools to suppliers.
  • Determine supplier technical capabilities based on this knowledge and effectively apply knowledge to resolve customer and production issues.
  • Understands sustainability and regulatory requirements and can apply them to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Define and implement improvement programs for suppliers.
  • Understands financial implications of solutions and requirement.
  • Strong leadership (indirectly) and communicative skills.
  • Proven record working in international businesses applying AQP / APQP.
  • Fluent in English is MANDATORY.
  • This is a senior position.
  • This is a hybrid position.
