What is the opportunity?

You will be responsible for the management of fiduciary accounts under the management of the Fiduciary Services (FS) business.  As a signatory of the Fiduciary Board of the Trust companies within the FS business, you will have the authority to make decisions under the four eyes principle for Trusts, Foundations and Nomineeships under the management of the FS business in accordance with the signing powers granted by RBC Trust Company (International) Limited and its subsidiaries (the Trust companies) up to such limits as set by the board of the Trust Companies from time to time.

 

You will be a signatory of the Corporate Director and Corporate Secretarial companies (which are subsidiaries of RBC Trust Company (International) Limited as authorised by the Standing Orders of RBCTC(I)L) with such powers as specified by RBCTC(I)L and its subsidiaries, thereby representing the corporate directors and corporate secretaries and playing an active role in the management of those private enterprises under the fiduciary management of RBCTC(I)L and its subsidiaries.

 

You will have a designated list of fiduciary entities (for example, trusts, companies, foundations and nomineeships) as agreed from time to time and the ADFM is responsible for the proper fiduciary management of those entities with the support of the Director, Fiduciary Management (DFM) and the Client Structure, Structure Admin & Structure Management teams. You will also have a primary fiduciary responsibility for and may act as the primary fiduciary point of contact for certain structures as agreed with the DFMTL and will also assist and support the Director, Fiduciary (DFM) with their fiduciary responsibilities on any structures as required.

 

You will work in full cooperation with and support any Director, Relationship Management (DRM) of the Sales & Relationship Management (SRM) team with their overall responsibility as the Prime Relationship Manager for all WM-I client relationships.  This includes the referral to SRM of any new business opportunity from new prospects or existing clients, provision of any related client information and participation on any client reviews.

 

What will you do?

Client Commitment

  • Fiduciary responsibility for the management of a portfolio of trusts, companies, foundations and nomineeships in their portfolio.  Assist the DRM with a programme of regular client and advisor visits and attend where required.
  • For structures where the ADFM has the primary fiduciary responsibility, engage with a programme of regular client and advisor visits where necessary and where costs are fully recoverable
  • Ensure client strategic objectives are reviewed and refreshed and that management of fiduciary structures meet the client strategic needs.
  • Assist the DRM with fee reviews and negotiations as appropriate in light of current services delivery and requirements to ensure recovery of work in progress (WIP) and fee collection targets as set out in the Business Plan

Business Performance

  • Assist with the delivery work in progress (WIP) recovery and fee target
  • Refer to the DRM any new from new prospects or existing clients and assist as required
  • Provision to DRM of any related client information/correspondence and participation with DRM on any client reviews
  • Assist employees within the Fiduciary team achieve their potential by effective coaching, performance management, communication and training and development activities to meet client needs

Operational

  • Ensure the team implements and adheres to corporate policies in accordance with IWM standards and procedures
  • Ensure own and staff compliance with the Global Trust Operating Model (GTOM) and supporting policies and procedures
  • Ensure consistent compliance with GTOM Console metrics including Strategic Reviews and Investment Monitoring Action Points/Low Rated Performing Portfolios
  • Ensure all audit points addressed
  • Ensure FS projects are achieved on time

Employee Engagement

  • Assist the Client Structure Team Lead in establishing goals for employees PL09 – PL11 that are clearly defined, measurable and achievable and align them with the strategic priorities of RBCWM
  • Undertake where necessary or appropriate coaching and mentoring roles.

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Hold an internationally recognised professional qualification, ideally an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Chartered Accountant Associate of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, Chartered Association of Taxation or a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (Category A level qualification under Jersey Financial Services Commission Regulations or Guernsey Financial Services Commission Codes of Practice)
  • Proven industry experience at a Management level
  • Maintain the minimum annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements of the held qualification and as required by regulatory authority

 

Nice-to-have

  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to maintain or enhance skills and abilities and ensure that the individual knowledge and understanding of RBC’s business remains current
  • Possess experience in interpersonal / leadership / team building and networking skills
