See Yourself as a Software Engineer Intern

Software Engineer Interns at Radian work on our Products. This includes proprietary, customized-off-the-shelf and as well as third-party solutions to enable business lines, service offerings or other. This Intern will assist with POC (proof of concept) using new AI tools to help showcase new features within our enterprise search engine. Software Engineer Interns are responsible for delivering high-quality, standardized, secure and performant code for the value benefit of Radian and our customers.

  • Develop features and improvements to the Radian products in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
  • Write code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
  • Learn, collaborate, and teach other Software Engineers. Everyone can contribute something new to the team regardless of how long they’ve been in the industry.
  • Assist with POC (point of concept) using new AI tools to help showcase new features within our enterprise search engine.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of at least 1 of the following: Python, Java, Angular, C#, or the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. More than 1 is a huge plus!
  • Familiarity with CoPilot and Github are ideal.
  • Experience with web application development is a plus.
  • Experience with git and CI/CD is also a plus.
  • A fundamental understanding in core web and browser concepts.
  • A fundamental understanding of HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.
  • A fundamental understanding of relational data models.
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning courses.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment.

  • Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, and clear status updates.
  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • An inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility.
  • Self-motivated and self-managing, with great organizational skills.
  • Comfort working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process.
  • Ability to thrive in a geographically distributed organization.

Prior Work Experience

  • Technical: 6 months - 1 year
  • Supervisory: None

Education and Credentials

  • Required: currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, ideally with coursework and projects in AI and/or ML.

Program Requirements

Interns will be required to participate in specific workshops and events in addition to their intern duties assigned by their people leader. This includes a NEW, 2-day in-person event at our Wayne, PA office, at the end of July.
