Corporate Data Protection Officer (m/f)
As a Corporate Data Protection Officer (m/f), you will be in charge of both tackling various tasks independently and being an active part of a committed team. You will be responsible for the implementation and development/improvement of the data protection management system with a focus on consulting and compliance within the Continental corporation. You will be given a chance to use your professional and technical knowledge, develop creative solutions and implement them in cooperation with your colleagues on a global scale.
Your responsibilities will comprise for instance:
Developing the data protection structure, process and systems with regard to the General Data Protection Regulation and our Binding Corporate Rules (or BCRs)
Advising business owner and affiliates concerning ongoing data protection issues
Reviewing and documenting independently data protection cases and requests
Reviewing and documentation within the scope of “records of processing activities”
Reviewing data processing operations and providing expertise regarding data processing agreements considering relevant data protection rules
Supporting the identification and the evaluation of data protection risks
Supporting prevention, detection and monitoring infringements of data protection rules, and consequently setting out appropriated responses
Conducting internal and external data protection reviews and audits worldwide
Developing, organizing and conducting trainings for employees and managers worldwide
The position as a Corporate Data Protection Officer (m/f) can also be hosted in other locations of Continental in Germany. Job Requirements Academic degree in economics or in law, ideally with a specialization in IT/telecommunication law, or in business informatics
Several years of practical experience in the field of data protection law and data protection management (the German Federal Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation), ideally in a matrix organization.
Knowledge in the field of information technologies, data collection and processing
Founded knowledge in European Data Protection law desirable
Knowledge and / or experience in the automotive environment desirable
Business fluent in written and spoken English, very good German skills (written and spoken)
Experience with digital environment/context especially with new media desirable
Strong communication skills, strategical mindset, as well as proactive, structured and independent working abilities
Team spirit and motivation
