Job Overview

The Logistics Manager is responsible for all matters concerning Logistics, Supply Support, Transportation, Services, POL and Equipment Maintenance. Maintains a material management system that tracks supply levels/requirements, ordering, transportation, retrograde and warehousing of materials/supplies. Ensures the accountability and security of all supplies and equipment. Maintains a 30-day supply of all expendable supplies. Responsible for processing, tracking, all material requisition requests/purchase orders ensuring timely delivery and completion of orders. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Responsible for the supervision of the following areas:

  • Supply: Performs management functions for all accountable property. Applies stock control policies and procedures to; receiving, inspecting, storing and safeguarding of inventories, supplies and equipment. Analyzes Just In Time (JIT) concepts and warehouse/transportation costs. 
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversees the transportation function including equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance programs. Insures adequate supplies to sustain maintenance programs to required standards. 
  • Oversees Food Services Operations, MWR Activities, and Housekeeping ensuring employees are performing these activities to the levels prescribed in performance work statement.
  • Oversees the POL (Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants) operation. Works with the POL Lead to make sure the fuel farm is meeting all of the applicable FAA and OAS regulations.
  • Coordinates material requirements, logistical support and provides cost estimates for projects.
  • Follows, develops and implements a viable preventive maintenance program.
  • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Displays good communication and organizational skills; must be self-motivated and work well as a team player in a challenging and atypical working environment.
  • Performs other duties and activities as directed. 

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • US citizen.
  • Two (2) years college or High school graduate with equivalent knowledge and skill to perform all of the duties in this performance description.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently at the technical level.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend technical manuals and generate technical reports.
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience within O&M services.
  • Knowledge of the standard practices in Logistics and familiar with the idiosyncrasies of small island logistics.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from sketches, blueprints and specifications.
