The Role:

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for UI engineering, aligning with overall company goals and objectives.

Team Building and Management: Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top talent for the UI engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders including executives, product managers, and customers to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and drive successful outcomes.

Budget Management: Manage the budget for the UI engineering team, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.

Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize achievements to ensure high performance and employee satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships with other engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of UI initiatives with broader engineering goals.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest standards of quality, reliability, and usability in UI software solutions through rigorous testing, code reviews, and quality assurance processes.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to UI engineering projects, proactively addressing challenges to minimize impact on timelines and deliverables.

This role is based out of our Palo Alto, CA office, and an Onsite interview is required as part of the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the UI engineering team, overseeing UI application development from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and execute strategies for building scalable, maintainable, and performant UI software solutions using CSS, HTML, JavaScript, React, Node.JS in a cloud-native environment.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and backend engineering to design and implement software solutions that meet business requirements and drive innovation.
  • Define and enforce best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines for UI development.
  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Drive initiatives to continuously improve development processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Act as a technical thought leader, staying updated with emerging UI technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and sharing knowledge across the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience in software development with a focus on UI engineering, using React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Node.JS.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing engineering teams, with a strong emphasis on building scalable and innovative UI solutions.
  • Deep technical expertise in UI development, architecture, performance optimization, and best practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role overseeing UI engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth technology company.

Compensation: Base Salary: $180,000-$250,000 (Depending on skills and experience). Eligible for benefits, bonuses, and equity.
