The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects with strict deadlines and within budget for the creation of new automatic door products and options. The position includes working locally and globally across several departments and brands to deliver projects according to the specification, scope and time plan.

Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with departments such as R&D, Production, Sourcing, Architectural and Marketing.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations and status to project teams and steering group.
  • Liaise with Business and Product Managers on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve possible issues and conflicts within the project teams.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines, tracking project milestones and deliverables.
  • Review status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans to minimalize slippage and risk.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Close out project on all levels with lessons learned and confirmation of deliverables.

Position Requirements

  • 3-5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Strong familiarity with project management software and disciplines; knowledge of Agile processes and Jira software a plus
  • Strong familiarity with MS Office and features
  • Mechanical, Industrial or equivalent degree required
  • Able to work with budgets, bills of materials and total cost of ownership models
  • Experienced at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Flexible during times of change and adaptable to shifting priorities and demands
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
  • Ability to bring project to successful completion
  • Strong written, oral communication with strong ability to organize and lead project meetings
  • Strong follow-up skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required
