About the job

The Red Hat Telco Engineering Verification team is driven by people with diverse technical backgrounds who are curious and innovative. We are currently looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join us in Israel. In this role, you will work on Red Hat’s OpenShift and related technologies. You'll be required to interpret test requirements for Telco 5G customer use cases and develop innovative automated solutions for testing real-world customer workflows in CI and test environments.

What you will do

  • Analyze and prioritize the quality risks posed by the offering in development and determine the tests required to mitigate these risks
  • Write automated tests and carry out manual tests
  • Develop tests using automation infrastructure and available scripting languages
  • Clearly document new bugs and advocate their resolution with developers and communicate their impact on customers and their businesses
  • Deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely manner
  • Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies
  • Build or enhance tools after gaining support from stakeholders in quality engineering and development

What you will bring

  • Good programming skills using Python or GoLang
  • Linux or UNIX system administration experience, Bash scripting
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining test environments and automated test suites
  • Knowledge with containers and container orchestration tools, such as OpenShift and Kubernetes, Docker/Crio
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Self-motivation and the ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Proven experience in RHEL Installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent system-level debugging skills

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with distributed systems design
  • Telco specific knowledge and experience
  • Experience with continuous integration
  • Exposure to open-source software development methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or information technologies (or equivalent in work experience)
